I’ve just finished reading a book Liv gave me about a geologist called William Smith. Hs always a bit short of the ready, on account of charging around the country digging up fossils. At one point, he says:

“Everyone who travels knows that ready money must be provided for the road. A man’s hand is constantly draining his pocket …”

A sentiment with which I’m sure you will agree.

I don’t remember exactly where the pie shop was, apart from it being in some underground feeding arena. It was there I had my first seedless watermelon. Delectable.

Now in jerentut, which quite frankly is uninspiring i say the least!!! off to the park tomorrow. will be getting the boat there, and as there is probably no mailing to be has there, i will mail from either malaka or mersing!!

We are planning to just stay in singapore when we pick the bunion up as there is nowhere close enough to ake it woth wile traipsing back to malaysia. anyway, with the zoo and many eateries, we should be kept entertained!!!! What was the one we used to prequent with the lucious pasties??? Hope there are no leeches….Glad to hear mama isn’t bored….Anyone would think she enjoyed having mounds of washing and slovenly slobs hanging round the house like a bad smell (liv n jul!).

Mama would like to change her use of the word “bored”. She claims she didn’t mean she hasn’t got enough to do. On the contrary, she has a list as long as her arm, and things are being added to it as quickly as they get crossed off. No, what she meant was that life was a bit dull with just a ‘has-been’ for company.

thanks for the e-mail mama, if you are looking for something to do you could have a crack at cleaning the shelves in my room and chucking away all the small clothes i will never wear again. that should acupy you for at least a month. a more fun thing wopuld be to do a spot of painting!

mid top: thrane isrealis. hanet in the center is the one i know quite well, she was very nice. that is the jolly coke machine at hone heke and beyond is the microscopic kitchen.

mid bottom: aha! guto, the funiest brazilian i have ever met. his classy turn of frase endeared him to one and all.

still in napier, quite a nice town, almost as nice as nelson in fact. yesterday we did very little, and in fact we haven’t done much today iether, which is all to the good.
