Pictures from Asia

It’s taken me about 5 years but I finally worked out how to download pictures on the site. Why? I thought I had something to contribute in this area. Hope it bloody works.

Another day, another government

Woke up this morning and found out that the democratically elected government had been overthrown by the military. Well how exciting! Not something that happens every day now is it.

I can’t quite hear the tanks from here but I can here a cockerel.

Footy, Thorpe Park and Surfing

Footy Thrashing
I played my first game of the season for SV on sunday. Unfortunately, we have a rather large surplus of midfielders and i, being one of the crappest, was relegated to the bench. However, with 30mins remaining, we were leading 12-nil so they let me come on and I played ok (I missed an open goal but set someone up). We won 18-0 in the end. Yes, they were crap, but the fact that we have been training regularly may have helped. Also Andy played well after we had some intense keeper training last week.

Demon Days
Had this on the iPod for a while, though I haven’t listened to it hugely apart from “Feel Good Inc.” Not sure Dod will like all the tracks (the ones leaning towards rap), but I can recommend it too.

Thorpe Park

Jul and his girlfriend, Han and I went to Thorpe Park last wednesday. It was pretty epic as there were no long queues and a several quality rides. The most epic of those being Tidal Wave, Nemesis Inferno, and Stealth. Tidal wave was a quality water ride from which you emerge, utterly drenched. Nemesis, a hanging type rollercoaster with plenty of loops. Stealth was the newest ride lasting around 10 seconds, but really good. Fast acceleration, then straight up for 200m, then straight down.

Surfing at the Witterings

Sunday and monday saw Geoff and myself catching some surf down at the witterings. Amazingly the surf was pretty good and between us we caught plenty – all good practice for our trip to Croyde later this month.

Babies and Gorrilaz

Hey! Nice baby and mother pics Nicky – not sure about the herbatory though…

Although my opinion of Damon Albarn would be that he is a grumpy old twat I have to confess that his “Gorillaz” album “Demon Days” is really rather good. I was persuaded to part with 100 hard earned baht for it last week (just under 1 pound 50) and given that Nicki likes Blur I thought that he, and indeed, you all should check it out. Especially since you can download it in about 5 minutes and not even have to shell out a few baht. It is an album and should to listened to as such.

(Going back to Thailand tomorrow after having repeatedly samples the excellent Beer Loa several times a night)

I await your opinionsÂ
