I’ve had a walk up Hall’s Fell ridge in April 2005 (snow and verglass) with a club (no names) which I thought was out of order without ice axes and knowledge of self-arrest. Even the easy scrambles should not be underestimated. Esp. Hall’s fell which has a nasty run out to the east.
