Photos

The APS film I thought had got lost thunked through the letter box this morning. I appear to have acquired a raft of landscape shots with no people; or people I don’t know – not that I would know them, of course! Here are a couple of a bloke with even longer hair than mine was in days of yore; and one of fishing. The photos are actually okay; it’s my scanning ability that’s at fault. I’ve just found your list of numbers, Jul, so I’ll put a few up each day. The scanner’s ability to produce dross no matter what I do stresses me more than I can say.

I’ve just been looking at cheap deals to Bali from here, as an alternative to trucking up to York to see Liv in a ridiculous hat get given a rolled up piece of paper, and they’re not cheap at all. Flights around £450; package deals nearly double that. NZ$1000 for flight and accomodation to Bali or Fiji or wherever doesn’t seem too bad by comparison. Mind you, it’s a lot nearer.
I remember Gisborne being a pleasant sort of place, but it’s right out of the way. Many Woofers there, I believe. As in Napier, too, doubtless.

Weather

That sounds like the sort of enterprise Brigadier Belcher-Flint, or whatever he was called, from the Thin Blue Line, would have organised.

It’s as hot as Hades here in England, where we shelter under the buddlia eating our meals of beans and rice, or poached eggs on toast.

Pictures

I knew I put those pictures up for something. As Mama’s just reminded me, it’s our 27th wedding anniversary!
I must pop into the garden and pluck a rose.
Cheers for the DD card, Tan.

Balloon

A hot air balloon’s just come down in the school playing fields. That’s pretty much enough excitement for us for a Saturday night.

Swimming

We headed off to Climping to go swimming on the hottest day of the year so far but it was low tide rather than the high tide I’d predicted. It was also windy.

Tan, your non functioning texter is getting my goat.

Anaphylaxis

The most commonly documented causes of anaphylaxis are:

Food (Peanuts, tree nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc. Shellfish, Fish, Milk, Soy, Wheat, Eggs)
Medications (Penicillin, Sulfa antibiotics)
Insect venom (Bees, Wasps, Yellow jackets, Hornets, Ants, especially the fire ant)
Latex (Gloves, Balloons, Condoms)
Exercise

See www.allergic-reactions.com/home/causes_main.html

No mention of plants. I got a horrible attack of itching, swelling, etc, that went on for days after squeezing through a privot hedge in Worthing.

Is there much fresh fruit about? Maybe you should go on a plain rice and fresh fruit diet. They say it’s usually what you crave that you’re allergic to. Noodle soup, mayhap?

Apis is the best homeopathic remedy. Have you got any?

I reckon it’s something to do with Thailand. Something you’re eating, drinking, touching, being bitten by, anointing yourself with – soap, perfume, insect repellent – that wasn’t happening in India or Vietnam or Cambodia or Laos. Get out of Thailand, I say!
