Singapore

I don’t know if you’ve got a book about Singapore but it looks like it might be a mite more expensive than what you’re used to. This website has some interesting ideas for all day walks and food discovery, etc. It has a hostel too, at S$18 per person a night. That’s around £6, I think.

Somewhere on this site, it mentions the Newton Food Centre. That sounds like the sort of place those pies might be found! As I remember, it was underground, in and amongst many other stalls, with seating areas.

There’s also a bit about digital cameras. Apparently, they’re half the UK price.

what officer? which gentleman?

Pearl Jam

A quick perusal online reveals this band as being American. Mmm. But it appears they made an album with Neil Young, an icon from my youth, recently. I’m downloading ‘I am mine’ as I speak.

I can’t believe you’re leaving NZ without having been to a single Wwoofing place!

As for abandoning Annika, surely this is not the action of an officer and a gentleman? Noblesse oblige, and all that rot.

p.s.

how come no one told me about the epicness that is pearl jam?! dod go forth and download a song called “i am mine” most good, i am sure you will like it.

haha Most comical indeed, for is it not said: “thou shallt laugh till thou bringest up phlegm.”
my coffers my be a bit depleted but its nothing a few years at the pepper factory won’t fix.

the countdown continues, most distressing leaving annika to fend for herself in this cold and hostile land. oh well, all flesh is as grass.

Blunt

I’ve just finished reading a book Liv gave me about a geologist called William Smith. Hs always a bit short of the ready, on account of charging around the country digging up fossils. At one point, he says:

“Everyone who travels knows that ready money must be provided for the road. A man’s hand is constantly draining his pocket …”

A sentiment with which I’m sure you will agree.

I don’t remember exactly where the pie shop was, apart from it being in some underground feeding arena. It was there I had my first seedless watermelon. Delectable.
