Coming home and Thailand

All good things must come to an end and so I’ll be home on Tuesday and presumeably in shock at the cold and time difference. I’ll only be around for a week (then off again for seven) so maybe we can meet Liv? Where exactly were you skiing anyway – somewhere in Germany?

Jul. Kachanapuri! Kachanapuri! Stroke a tiger (see my previous pics)! Dive in 7 waterfalls! See the Death Railway Bridge (bridge over the river kwai). And if you pay about 10 squid you can get a pic with your head in a tigers mouth I think?!?!

Malaysia

Jul, we spent about 6 weeks in Malaysia during last year. I wasn’t entirely excited by it.

However the Perenthian Islands are noteworthy for the snorkelling and diving on offer – there’s nothing else though. Just going up to 1 meter depth is enough to see about 30 fish of about 5 varieties from the main beach. There are sharks and turtles too. It may be monsoon there though.

Also although I haven’t been the national park rain forrest is supposed to be good because I guy I met yesterday said that there was huge snakes and very impressive wildlife in abundance.

If you go to Thailand, my favourite place is Kachanapuri due to the tiger temple and eravan waterfalls – 7 different waterfalls going up a mountain within walking distance.

NZ and India

Mmm… Jul why are you going round in circles through parts of India that you don’t like much and how did you not know that you have to go across the river to the best bit. I know that and I’ve never even been there – surely the Lonely Planet must have advised you?! Have you even enjoyed it India? You seem to have large amounts of loathing. Personally I’d happilly take the next plane out to India and remain there until a six month visa had expired.

I’m sitting on a computer when I should be skydiving. Such is the Kiwi weather that I am unable to jump as the cloud would probably electrocute me – at least I have a humungous steak in the fridge for my birthday dinner.

Will return in two weeks with an actual tan and a video of my epic 134m plunge

Leaps of doom

Oh come on Liv, a true dare devil such as yourself who can traverse the Leaps of Doom with barely a grimace would have no trouble at all on a crappy bungee jump – all you have to do is jump and put your arms out, and even a stone can fall 134 meters! I’m going sky diving on my birthday.

Also, Dodman, it should be noted that Shantaram is actually fiction and anyone involved in a road accident isn’t actually pummeled to death by a crowd of rabid locals – although I’m sure it has happened on occasion. Otherwise there would be about 100,000 murders every day in India.

It can’t be Jermaine or Michael. Is it Randy?

Also after my epic bungy jump on the highest bungy in the country at a mere 134 meters and 8 seconds free fall those who wish to see more should go to Youtube and type in “Nevis Bungy”. You will see what I did done by some other random bloke.

I highly recommend the experience to all – it is highly exciting but at the same time gentle on the poor body with no strain put upon it and certainly no Nevis Bungyeye dislocation likely. The only downer is the sheer cost of the thing!
Happy New Year from a pleasantly warm South Island
