That water melon story, Geoff, reminds me of a begger on a train in Sri Lanka. I was eating a banana at the time and he was gesturing towards his mouth. I was a bit fed up so I gave him my banana skin, thinking that would get rid of him. He proceeded to scrape at and eat the inside of it – if you’ve ever tried this you’ll know how incredibly bitter it is.

He would have been much more justified throwing it at me than your water melon man!

Hello solid,
It’s Geoff here. Tan feeling the strain so taking a siesta while I’m dispatched to check her e-mails, read the blog, and compose necessary replies.
Suffering from a case of disappearing cash eh? I wonder why! Time to get down to some honest toil and work those fingers of yours to the bone, picking fruit for lazy people like me to consume who have a bit more ready cash!!!
Can you keep Noble House until you get to Thailand? I have about 5 books in the bottom of my bag which may interest you including Gai Jin if you haven’t already read it. Tai Pan was really good – I agree with you there! Can’t agree with your opinion of Ocean’s Eleven though.
If you do end up coming to Thailand early tell us, and we’ll put our skates on to come and meet you at the airport!
Still recovering from the ordeal of having a water melon thrown at me by a beggar cluthching his stomach,
Geoff

Forget Thailand. Get yourself to KK soonest and start plucking – that’s the only thing that will stop the cash haemorrhaging away.

This just arrived from a hostel in Kerikeri, in reply to an email sent before you left here:

“Sorry it took so long to reply, the rate is $18.00 per night in a dorm or $86.00 per week. A single room is $100.00 per week. The kiwifruit season is under way in about 1 week, please reply if you want to come up, regards Michelle”

Forget Thailand, for the moment; think Kerikeri … or was it just an April fool jest???

woohoo, i just bought a docter strange comic! along with a couple of others from an antique shop pf all places for $5.
hmm checked fsmail. most confusing i get an email from mama from dods adress, then an email from dod from mamas adress. insane. thanks for the mail mama.

livsters gone back to normal now. bizare. just spent a vast amount of time looking for a place to eat, bit of a strain, this eating business. might give it a miss for a while. i think i might check my money situation, i ran out of cash the day before yesterday and had to transfer some more in. it has to be said this jolly trip to newzealand is turning out be quite pricey. maybe i should go to tailand a few weeks early or something.
