If you figure out when you want to go to Kerikeri, it would be a good idea to change the ticket as early as possible. Also, to book a place in a hostel there, rather than turn up and find it full. If you get there early it might allow you to organise something in advance, thereby allowing time for essential ërelaxingí purposes!
You get a single room for $95 a week at Arianga, which isnít bad, seeing as $20 a night for a dorm bed where you are is $140. They practically guarantee you work there, too, which you might think is a good reason for staying away; but I say thereís nothing wrong with a spot of honest toil in the open air with healthy like minded fellows toiling alongside you.

There’s a work swap place near Nelson who are keen on having someone help uproot a load of bamboo. They seem nice enough and have seperate accomodation: basically, 4 hours a day in reurn for food and lodging.

Thank you very much for the phone calls and the text messages ( Daddy hogged the phone all the time) It sounds nice to be in a warm place but I donít know if I mentioned it before but there is a hole in the ozone layer over N. Z. Please try to stay in the shade. If you are not eating very many vegetables, it might be a good idea to buy some multi vitamins and minerals tablets. I think it is a good thing to go walking to get the limbs to function again. Are there any sailing course available? I am sending you a card to poste restante in Nelson. They will keep it for three weeks. Daddy will probably copy day No 3 for Granny as days 1 and 2 are more suitable for the Mown Meadows lot. All very good reading . Remember to send a card to Granny. It is a good thing to talk to people; you learn where they have been, where they are going and it is a good way to make friends. I hope that you have found somebody to go walking with you.
