Hail all,

Got abit confused wityh all the plans and wot not, so just let me know ahen you have sorted all the flights and know what is happening. Didn’t check the mail, and there was nothing in the medical sheet we had to fill out about alergies, so headed of for the first dive to 12 metres todat! Much fun and amusment!!!! Ear fine and feel fine under water so no probs there then!! Most of the swellings have gone now, and it seems to be the antyhistamenes that ed gave me when we briefly saw then in bangkok. They are the ones he used for his allergy to wasp stings, and they work atreat. Mayhaps some brands work better than aother. Anyway, feeling fine and diving is great. will write a long, detailed mail when have finished course!!!! Mama would love it as you can see loads of coral and fish + manty other things. WE even learnt a groovy way to get the water out of your mask UNDER water!!!

By the way, we had to change our flights out of Bali to sing (on way tyo oz) as the one we were on was cancelled. WE are now on the SQ143 flight on the same day leaving bali. It is the only one that ties up with the connecting flight to brisbane i think. AS i said, let me know what is going on about your flights jul.

Love to all,
Tanya

Big box

A big box just arrived in the post. Mama’s opening it. Talking of post, I sent the APS film off for reprints and got nothing back. So I rang them and they claimed not to have received it. Arrgh.

Silver

I recognise that double heart beat; I get it when playing tennis. Most disconcerting.
Concerning ‘tarnished silver’. Harken to this:

“Silver does not corrode in the accepted sense but is tarnished by hydrogen sulphide and other sulphur-containing gases. This can be removed by a standard silver polish. Alternatively, the reaction can be reversed, that is, the silver sulphide converted back to silver metal using the following procedure.

Mix about 4 tablespoons of washing soda with 2 pints of very hot water. Place a piece of aluminium foil in the bottom of a plastic mixing bowl and stand a piece of tarnished silverware on the aluminium foil. Wearing rubber gloves, pour the hot soda solution into the bowl until the silver item is completely covered (make sure it remains in contact with the aluminium foil). Within a few minutes the tarnish will transfer from the silver to the aluminium foil. Remove the now sparkling silver item, rinse and dry it with a soft cloth.”

wow! i want that bed! i like the floor space a lot.

i think i will do plan A or C depending on how close i am to auckland. and i can always do plan E when i like. as to avalablility, i have the flight to bali already booked don’t i so it should not be a problem.
we spent a healthgiving four hours in the hot spa place yesterday, lurching from one hot pool to a slightly hotter one and so forth. most relaxing. but disterbingly as i left the place my heart seemed to take an odd turn. it was as if i had injected four pints of adreneline into it then competed in a triathelon. my heart rate was about 155 bpm or so. it felt very odd strolling down the street, breathing normaly and my chest pounding as my heart went hell for leather. mildly worried as i had fogoten to take my silver ankh off and ofcourse it had turned dark black by the sulfer, and of course this was a bad omen as the ankh is my source of power. oh well i seem to be alright now. though my ankh refuses to polish…

unfortunatly i haven’t done anything insanly dangerous latly so i cannot regail you.

Flights

Mmm. Which plan were you refering to? Rethinking, overnight, I realise that if you do want to go to Bali, on 6th July, maybe you need to change everything now, rather than nearer the time, because availability might be a problem. In fact, it might be a problem already! I hadn’t thought about that.
To recap:
Plan A was re-route everything from Auckland to tie in with T&G in Bali, retuning to London at the end of July.
Plan B was simply delay the existing routing until you’re clearer.
Here’s Plan C. It’s clear that you’re heading further and further away from Kerikeri! Figure out where, roughly, you’ll be by the beginning of July. Nelson, mayhap!!!!! Re-reoute your ticket now, at a cost of US$75, to Nelson (or wherever the nearest NZ airport is to where you’ll be)-Auckland-Sin-Bali-Sin-Lon, tieing in with T&G’s times. As you approach the beginning of July, either you’ll use the ticket, or you’ll have decided something completely different. Then you just pay the few dollars to change the dates until you know what you want to do and either use the ticket as it is or re-route it again.
Plan D is Mama’s. She suggests working backwards. Assuming you need to be here by mid September, arrange to go somewhere in SE Asia for a week of two before legging it to London, so leave NZ towards the end of August.
Plan E. A new one. Rip the ticket up and get a job! Establish yourself as a plastacine modeller in NZ. We’ll visit you on our bicycle tour later this year. There’s an article in the Sunday Times saying nine tenths of university degrees are a waste of time and money and don’t help much in the job market, anyway.
Hey, what happened to all the hair raising stories you used to regale us with?
