hail.

well all the stuff about touranga is academic now as we have left! we were going to stay around for a while and chack out mt monganui but then we made a sudden biumverate executive decision and took the bus to rotorua. it still stinks here, since my last visit. and the chicken was frankly crap. we are now going to check out the hot spa place for a few hours. aaahhh.

liv: i saw the matrix last night and thought it was rather good. a tad disapointed about the end but exelent stuff all round. i like the way they avoided using guns as the first film had already done that to death. and the way the story has turned. and wack neo is the coolest person EVER!!! wow. the power!

well your plan sounds about right dod. i will change the 18th flight when i get to toupo, then sort it out in my head. maybe there is something to check out near singapore?

my twitching eye connot be a salt deficiency as i have cansumed a vast amount in the last few weeks. it must have been the two megalattes i had in kerikeri. dangerous stuff coffee.

Diving

Mama let out several shrieks of dismay when she heard you had started diving. It hadn’t crossed my mind, but possibly it’s not the best thing to do if you’ve got this allergic thing bubbling around inside. All the side effect warnings talk about breathing difficulties as well as lumps and itching, so maybe heading deep down underwater, which affects your metabolism anyway, is tempting providence. Not wanting to be a wet blanket and all that; but what’s wrong with staying on land (out of the sun, of course, on account of increased sensitivity!) until you know for sure what’s the cause of this ‘thing’?

Fever

The ‘high fever’ is just a possible sign of malaria. The odds are you weren’t even bitten!

Note what she said about fakes!

I thought you said earlier you had already stopped Doxy?

Re-routing

I checked with Air NZ and they say that if you change one leg of your ticket it costs US$75 (£50) but if you change umteen legs, as long as it falls in the overal mileage allowance, it doesn’t cost any more, if you do it at the same time.
So, I suggest, if you’re not sticking to the 18th June flight, forget about going to Bangkok on July 1st in order to hightail it to Singapore and then Bali on the 4th/5th; and, assuming you’re definitely decided Bali is ‘on’, change yout ticket (cutting out Kerikeri and Auckland) to go Auckland-Sin-Bali-Sin-London. Arrange the Auckland-Sin leg for whatever date Tan and Geoff arrive in Singapore. You’re already on the same flight as them (SQ146 at 1400 on 6th July) from Sin to Bali. Also, while you’re about it, try and get on the same flight as them out of Bali, too. Currently, you’re on Flight SQ141 leaving at 0915 on 25th July; they’re on Flight 147 leaving at 17.25 the same day. If you do that, you’ll have to change your Sin-London flight to link up with the Bali-Sin bit. All that’ll cost $75.
However, if you’re unsure about that routing, or about going to Bali at all, or what you want to do, just change the outward date from Kerikeri to somewhere in the distant future – say, November, or something – for the time being, until you’re more certain. That only costs a few NZ dollars, doesn’t it? There’s not much point expending $75 just to buy three weeks pondering time, when you may want to change it all again, later!
Having said all that, I am instructed by Mama to add that you can in fact go to Bali, and anywhere else, including the high mountainous rainforests of Borneo, any time …

a high fever it says?????? Geoff think i should try and find some malarone. Wikll let you know if that is poss on the island

Could be bugs, but why havn’t i had any reaction before??? Havn’t stopped taking doxi yes as waiting for your advice and chemists. sounds to me like it is unlikely because i didn’t have any rection in vietnam. They are not bad, and am keeping a watchful eye on them. Havn’t taken an antihystamene yet, but ankles a little on the bloated side!!!!!! If they don’t get worse i think i will just see the course out and then hope they get better. If it is a bug from here there is not much i can do until i get out of thailand, or to a cooler climate like NZ. So, havn’t stopped yet, but will if swelling get bad. Any more on face and i’m stopping as they could get nasty.

Trying to sort out jul’s crack potted idea of a quick trip to the scam fest that is bagkok?!!! It’s a shame he missed thailand, but there seems little point in him zooming over there for a day and then back to singapore as he will have to fligh there to connect with the flight to bankok anyway i think. All flights in SE asia seem to go through singapore somhow of other!!!!!

Have started diving course in Koh Tao! Theory for three hours!!!! bit too much like school for my liking, but should be good fun. We were going to get an underwater diposable camera, but they only go to 5mts, and we are going to dive at 18mtrs. so not much good!
